>Three days down…

>So far, so good! I’ve been horrible about pictures which I swore I wouldn’t do, but as things settle down, I promise to be better with the camera.

Monday…day 1 – bean woke up around 7:30, we ate breakfast and started to head to the Y for some friend and swim time. Lucky for me, my husband taught me the value in the 6 Ps and I called ahead to reserve her a spot. No spots and no shallow end free swim! Not a good start to our quality time. So instead, we headed up to Tumbling Tykes to play. She had a good time despite most of the kids being older than her and me feeling like a fish out of water. We’ll try again next week!

Tuesday…day 2 – stopped into visit her old day care friends. Yup, just couldn’t stay away! She loved seeing her old teachers and friends. However, she started to cry when she sat down to eat peaches and clearly thought I was leaving her. She quick recovered and it was great to be able to stay and watch her play for once!

Today…day 3 – swim lessons! She should have been born a fish. She loves the water so I’m pumped we were able to get into this class even if it’s just us and two other kids. It’s a good structured class and she loved it! However, when I went to drop her off at the Childrens Corner afterwards so I could go for a run, she started hysterically crying…sobs like I have never heard from her before (I’m beginning to see a trend). It was heartbreaking so I ended up spending the next 40 minutes playing with her in the room until she broke away from me to play with the other kids and was ok seeing me leave. It was so weird to see her like that twice this week since she’s never been a particularly clingy kid.

Tomorrow…back to the Y for some more play time and then some errands.

Friday….swimming with Keegs and then either library or gym time.

Mornings are our out and about time. Usually head out around 9 or 9:30 and back home just in time for lunch…down for a nap from 1:00 to 3:30 or so (my domestic time). Snack time and then play until we hear the garage door open and the dadda chant begins!

It’s so fun to spend so much time out and about with her. I never realized how little I saw her interactions with other children…sharing toys (or not), taking turns on the slide, playing hand in hand with them, etc. I’m so glad that I am there to see her learn and help shape her values and how she sees the world. What an awesome responsibility!

3 days down and…well…a lot to go! John has the official count no doubt.

  1. >That is a great comment you made about being able to watch Kennedy learn and grow, and your being around more to help her learn and shape her values. kudos! One of my other friends just became a SAHM starting January too and I have lots of admiration for you guys.
