So I have a need to memorialize this for myself. After running pretty regularly for over a year, I finally headed out to reach the 10 mile goal I set for myself months ago…
Pros:
- I burned over 1,000 calories in an hour and a half
- I was able to hold a 9 – 9:30 pace for the entire run (I expected closer to 10:30)
- I finished the whole thing without walking for even a second (despite the monster hills)
Cons
- My right big toenail doesn’t need polish anymore since it’s a lovely grey color all by itself (maybe that’s a pro?)
- My left big toenail may fall off any day
- My second toenail is cracked right down the middle
- My hips feel like they have been smacked with sledgehammers
Despite the cons, I think all I need is a new pair of kicks, upgraded stretching exercises and another hour and a half to hit the pavement again. Maybe a marathon isn’t so out of the question afterall.
My love for running was definitely renewed this weekend…
>Congratulations! :) :)
I’m proud of you!
